I am not sure about that. It may be an electrical problem. Still working the issue to find the cause.
Question is... Can I get just an connecting rod/piston with a new ball bearing set as a separate part, or am I forced to get a complete compressor? The access plate had an LR emblem so I was either original from 2006 with 122,000 miles or a genuine replacement at some point before I got it.
I just rebuilt mine. DEFINITELY replace the descendant beads too. They slowly turn to dust and cause down stream problems with the vavle blocks. I also upgraded to a metal cap. https://www.ebay.com/itm/For-Land-Ro...kAAOSwD~BbNLMq
THAT is just what I needed. I ordered one just now. I have already ordered a new Hitachi (figure it should last another 10 plus years if I keep up on the drier), but will rebuild this one as a backup.

YES! I just put a new metal cap and descendant in last December.
While waiting on the compressor, I finally tore into the right front door to replace the door lock actuator. Alldata stated 1.6 hours to R&R. That must be a truly talented LR technician that has done nothing but change out door lock actuators for the last two year.
I understand having to take the inner door panel off, and maybe relocating the window drive unit, but removing speaker in the front part of the door and completely removing the glass from the door frame AND the outside door handle seems a bit over-engineered.
After this, a new compressor install will seem enjoyable.
Needed to pull that carpet. Amazingly that is all the garbage that must be removed to do that. I have a thread going in the build thread section. Feel free to join in and have a laugh as I go down the road with this one.

Long story short massive water ingress while the truck was stored in the post lot. That combined with years of spilled everyting and mold meant it needed to come out to be properly dried and cleaned.
Before:
After:
First wash was car wash soap, scrub brush and pressure washer. Second wash was carpet cleaner, scrub brush and pressure washer. Just finished the second wash about 20 minutes ago so they are a bit damp still. Smell and look 100% better. I'll be able to slot them back in the truck, once they dry and I get the added sound deadner installed.
