I needed a new front hub due to the last two being utter garbage. One lasted less than 10000km and the other failed after just one day - don't buy hubs off Amazon as in spite of what the seller tells you, the chances are they will be counterfeit. So I decided to go for one from Atlantic British - cost of $119 (or around $150 CAD), pretty good I thought. Then I got the email from UPS for import fees and duty. OMG it is insane. The shipping, import duty and HST all combined pushed the total to $326 CAD. Its insane when shipping and taxes are more than the cost of the actual item.
On the plus side I can now change a front hub in about 45 mins as this will be the 3rd one I've had to do
Also had to change a rear control arm last week after living with the sound of an old bed spring squeaking away for a few weeks, but decided to let my local shop fit it. They only charged me $220 CAD - which I though was a great price. I had already purchased the control arm, bolts and knuckle bushing.
in the next few days I'll be added to the "replaced a compressor" list.
It's throwing the C1A13 code consistently, so bit the bullet and got the compressor from Lucky8. Should be delivered in a day or so, and will throw it in.

When buying hubs from Amazon, make sure they are sold by AND fulfilled by Amazon. I needed a front hub, quickly. Another online parts store I use A LOT had Timkens, but the shipping was too slow. For me, this is one area Amazon excels at, emergency car parts (although they dont have a lot) and delivery on Sundays/holidays. The hub that arrived was 100% authentic Timken. Box has the new, updated security sticker and all the marks were 100% proper and correct. So I can say my experience was good. There are certainly fakes out there, but they are never perfect replicas of the real deal and people have plenty of photos to show the difference. Most of the time it is easy to tell just by looking at the wheel stud caps. With that said, since the parts supplier I use is even cheaper than Amazon, I do have another Timken coming for the passenger side. I am not sure if its bad, but I would rather deal with it now than when I am on a 3k mile trip out west on corrugated roads. I am pretty sure the one I already replaced was not factory. It was not Timken, that is for sure. Not sure when it was installed or what brand. I want to clean it up and see if I can find any markings.
