Default 2011 LR4 Engine Noise

Hi, I purchased my truck in 2019. Over the last few months, I've been hearing a knocking n ticking sounds coming from the engine. It also seems a little sluggish at times. Within the last three months, I have replaced the radiator, water pump n thermostat housing. Now I'm being told that it might be the lifters, (which I'm not sure if thats the proper name for them) and rockers or a maybe a timing chain. I recorded a video but for whatever reason, this site does not let me upload it.

Can I run my vehicle with those noise(s)

Which would be more important for me to fix first-- the first the timing chain or the lifters & rockers? Is one part of the other, or or they from different systems in the vehicle? thank you.

Even if you uploaded the audio, it would be hard to tell.

Timing chain noise is usually noisier at cold start up when oil pressure is lowest.

When you start talking lifters that would be cylinder heads off, machine shop, etc.

If you do timing, make sure they quote new cam sprockets.

I wouldn’t drive it until it sees a professional.

You haven't given us much to go on here.
2011 LR4 would be a 5.0L V8 in the US but if you are in the rest of the world you would have diesels as well. The AJ5.0 is a overhead cam engine and does not have lifters as such, the cams actuate the valves through the lobes on "buckets" . This is not a typical American made SBC or LS motor.
Noise and sluggish could be timing chain, high pressure fuel pump, could be bearings? You absolutely have to get the faults read on this. I do suspect that this problem is going to be beyond your ability as timing chain replacment is a task they won't even do at the dealership, you have to take it to an independant and it's going to be thousands.

and until you get the faults read and identified this engine may well be a ticking time bomb. As I read your post, you've been driving this since 2019 so you are familiar with how it should sound and your ears tell you *something* is amiss, so you are right to be concerned, but a trip to a shop that is familiar with the engine and Land Rovers is advisable. Any shop telling you it's "lifters" on this engine is automatically unqualified.
