2012 LR4 engine replacement
How can a car need a new engine with only 7000 miles on it. The dealership wants 31,168 dollars to replace it and give me a 1 year guarantee. I have never replaced an engine on any car that I have owned and one with 7k miles seems wrong. I have owned the car since 2016. it seems this is totally wrong. Anyone with thought would help.

we’ve sent humans into space. Yes it can be done.
the real question is will it be done.
for fun,
the t case locks when a computer tells it. First mission, divorce t case module from PCM and TCM. Then maybe you have a chance at a semi functioning LR4.
but I’ll bet $5k that it can’t be done while retaining all functionality and without fault lights.
just seems easier to buy a new factory engine and maintenance like it’s your baby.
And don't say it can't be done, the LR4 doesn't need all the computer crap anyway, it was just engineered to want it.
