Due to work schedule I am going to start my winch install Friday July 3, 2020........
Trivia While we wait:
(my current mileage 51300K)
For my 2017 D5 HSE Lux emission Warranty. from the 50K to 80K point.
Certain emission-control parts, including the vehicle’s catalytic converter, engine control module and transmission control module, are covered for 8 years/80,000 miles.
Well I have been disappointed. After ripping most of the front of my D5 apart, I go and get to the point where I dry fit the Lucky8 winch plate, and it doesn't line up. So of course Friday July 3rd for the most part was a holiday observed for most US business. So I had to wait til Monday to contact Lucky8. I called and was told I would get a call back. So 4 hours later, I called back. I was told they made some plates wrong. That they would send me a replacement in three weeks. Something fishy is going on in my opinion. But now my truck completely tore apart, Now it has to sit there tore apart for 3 weeks. Needless to say I'm not happy. With that being said, I'm going to post up the pics and things I've done so far.
Here is my set-up. I'm on 6 ton jack Stands with rear wheels chocked. Both front tires removed.
Driver Side inner fender removed repeat for passenger side too. Driver side small mud flap removed.repeat for passenger side too.
Driver side. Pry wheel well molding loose, pull away from wheel opening slightly. Remove parking sensor font molding. repeat for passenger side too. this side has 2 power plugs. unplug them. ( the passenger side only the washer hoses need to be unplugged.)
Now remove the Grill. Also remove the tow eye cover.
Remove all the screws for the nose. 4 up top, 6 down low, and 3 in each fender well. I thought there were going to be more connections to unplug, so I used a cooler to be able to support the nose. But it was really not needed. Its not heavy. But be aware this is a HSE LUX TD6 version, the gasser may be different.
Here is right after the nose removed. At this point, remove the brake ducts, the lower scoop, the upper scoop, the Radar unit and on the left the other plastic scoop.
Now remove the cross bar support. 4 bolts.
Here is the point where it all went to crap. So I put one bolt in the driver side, and went to put the other bolt in and this is what I got. I measure just over 1 inch off the centerline. Also it is squashing a coolant line. Also the lower winch mounting hole don't line up either.
So now I have to wait 3 week with my truck tore apart. I will continue my how to at that point. Very disappointed.
oh no, that's not good. hope they can get you one sooner. I wanted to order one, but will probably hold off for now. Isn't there a difference in the mount for the TD6 and Si6?
thanks for all the pics so far. Disassembly seems like it's pretty straight forward, not too bad?

Disassemble was very easy so far. I'm really disappointed in what has happened. I feel like they knew up front, and I made it clear that I had a TD6 and they just sent the wrong plate anyway, just to delay the correct mounting plate. If they even have one for the TD6???
Update: 7/17/2020 I need my rig back, I'm going to reassemble tomorrow . Even though today is week two, and Lucky8 said three weeks. I have a strange feeling its going to be more. I also hope Lucky8 sheds light on what actually has happened.
