Thanks.
Due to other brands in the house, I have an Autel scanner.
I will have this D5 for a while, if not a Defender will be the replacement. Looking at some.
The forward component is the DFP (first pic) and the rearward component is the SCR (second pic). And yes, when the DPF is replaced the PCM needs to be told to relearn the new part. The GAP diag tool can do this.
did they replace just the filter? I had a failure last year soon after buying. They replaced differential pressure sensor as well since it was clogged up as well all tubing. Since then 30k miles and no problems so far.
Looks like they cut and replaced the DPF only which is fine. One of the clamps doesn't look tight or maybe not serving a function at all. They may have left off the bolt that secures the EGR return pipe as well. See my second picture. I recommend securing it, given that's a long run of pipe and the exhaust moves relative to the other end which is a weak clamp at the EGR cooler. See the second photo below. You can see your bolt missing in the first photo you posted.
The parts don't look new from which I assume are very low mileage and exposure to the elements. My frame of reference is the new dpd/catalyst I'm going to install into mine.
It's a really pretty assembly with no miles on it
I went back and compared the DPF pics @Xattica posted of his DPF/SCR earlier in the thread. Just by the shape of the welds on the DPF heatshield they definitely changed something. I too was wondering about that additional loose clamp. There should only be one clamp in that position (which there is in the original photos). The rubber isolator should also have been replaced.
Thanks to all.
I will go to another tech and see what happens. Dealer will pay for it. What is the exact screw I need to check?
Also I’m on this now:
Monitoring. Yesterday, I did 2 regens at expected. B1S3 going up to 1200F. During the CELs I noticed NoxS1/S2 went to zero. While driving S1 is always over S2, when break is the opposite (make sense). Sometimes both when to zero (maybe an issue).
