New (to me) D5
After reflecting a bit on this it occurs to me that the EGR shown as part #1 is the high-pressure EGR. It is located prior to the turbocharger and has much higher temperatures and pressure. The part shown as #2 is the low-pressure EGR and takes lower pressure exhaust gasses pulled after the DPF. Considering your DPF was compromised, it's very likely the low pressure EGR is fouled.
I hope this helps. I'm not a diesel expert by any means, but still learning as much as I can so I can maintain my own.

No reservoir. No fluid. Electronic power assisted steering on D5. I'm okay if anyone wants to correct me. I tried to find a detailed description in my shop manual and couldn't locate it.

Hi,
Well after all the replacements and job performed no CEL has been light on during a month.
This diesel cleaner is magic: Archoil AR6400-D Diesel Fuel System Cleaner.
At 96k miles, what can go wrong? Catastrophic?
D5 is driving beautifully. With the new suspension arms is like driving on clouds. Still thinking about the Defender.
