I Agree. There's also a tendency (unavoidable) for the service advisor to ignore my statements about this being a reoccurring issue after an oil change.The fact that my freshly updated $300 el cheapo scanner was able to fix the issue with minimal steps says it all. Now there where a few steps to the process but they where clear, prompted and didn't require backing out of the selected task. Makes me wonder if they all just did the hood, door and brake gas pedal reset and sent it each time with the exception of the one time they sorted it with the computer.

Very gracious of you to refer to this as a comedy.
One might easily call this a tragedy.

It's certainly a reason to avoid the dealerships altogether if possible.
