Td6 after oil change - now dash pop-up says 1600 miles oil life?
@gmfain How does your Launch CPR 909 work for you? I've run into the issue of not being able to reset the "Service due in X miles" message on the dash after countless attempts at resetting using the gas/brake reset.
Works perfect.
The gas/brake reset does not work for the 2017 TDV6, and will never work according to JLR.
I does reset it to 16K, like from factory new, but anyone with the broken crank shaft knows, we change it between 5-8k miles.
I will say this, when the computer detect to much oil dilution, and pops up to change before my 8K, I change it right away.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for that info @gmfain ! Would you purchase the tool again or go for a different version? Yes, definitely have been sticking to the 5-8K interval since I've owned mine. Any other features you wish you had on that specific tool?
The GAP tool will do more, but it also cost more and is your VIN specific.
I work on family member cars so, this works for me.

I'm trying to imagine a system which detects oil quality/dilution directly. I'm assuming that the ECM throws up a "change oil now" warning when it has monitored a number of factors (regens, oil quantity, trip lengths, I'm guessing) and "decided" it's time for a change. Like above mine threw out a service reminder 550 miles after I had changed the oil and reset the indicator! Talk about a false positive.
