Default Tuning new TD6

I currently own a 2018 LR Discovery 5 TD6. I have been looking to get a little more power out of it so I purchased a piggyback tune as it’s supposed to be extremely easy to Install and remove. My biggest concern is there is absolutely no information online in regards to anything with this motor and where each and every sensor is located and/or parts on the motor for that matter. It’s really quite disappointing to be honest as it make it nearly impossible to do any work on the vehicle confidently. I am wondering for anyone who has installed a piggyback tune, where is the dang rail sensor located? I cannot find it for the life of me and the only info online shows sensors from 2010-2012 models which has no relevance to my search inquiries. Can someone shed some insight and or send me a photo/video of the install and/or location of the darn sensor. Much thanks in advance.

What unit did you purchase? I have printed instructions showing connection points.

this helps quite a bit. Only question is the fuel rail hidden underneath all the black plastic after you take off the engine cover? Is there more to remove to make it accessible to get to fuel rail sensor? Sorry for the questions just want to clarify and not break something that’s not meant to be taken apart. First time tinkering with a diesel. German petrol engines are much easier to work on for me.

found it. Very easy spot but just tricky to see. Took not even 5 minutes after I finally found it. Much thanks for the diagram.

chip express I believe is only for a diesel but I know racechip makes them for SI6. I was waiting for racechip for a while but they decided never to make one for the TD6 and I was losing patience so I opted for something else that would be plug and play. I don’t have the hookups for warranty related issues as I do at BMW. Therefore I don’t go crazy with performance mods as I do with my M car.

Glad you found the port. I was heading to the garage to take a picture of the connector for you. I have s Chip Express also and think it is a great mod for the TD6. I had a couple earlier posts regarding performance enhancement. Best of luck with the new tune!

I'm curious how these piggyback units are as far as efficiency. Looking to improve it like my bmw x3 improved with a flash tune.
