hello.. my name's Bruce
I'm a shark.
Wait.. let me start over.
Hello! My name is Robert, and I'm not a shark. I swim with sharks. Now if only I could grow gills and make my android waterproof, I'd rather live in the ocean.
Only one problem... Just bought a new (used) Disco II and I love it.

Welcome. Fish are our friends, not food. Mod one should be replace/rebuild front drive shaft if not already, it can split and poke hole in tranny. See tech area. Also download the RAVE shop manual set, free links below. Do't let engine go over 50% on heat gauge, consider an Ultra Gauge which is a code reader and data display.
Thank you for the welcome! I will have to look through the service book to see if the front drive shaft has already been done or not.
There are several repairs that I'll be making to get this beast up to par with my standards, but for $2,450 I almost stole it!

Read and see pix in Propshaft Rebuild - Land Rover Forums - Land Rover Enthusiast Forum - it is unlikely that this will appear in service book. Factory unit had sealed fittings, which dry out, and can split with no warning. The result can be a hole in the transmission and a $7,000 trip to the dealer.

Thank you Savannah for the info. Just crawled under truck and can confirm that there are grease nipples on the u-joints... whew!
Next, I will be tackling that rascal ground strap on the fuel sender.
Any other suggestions? Besides pointing me in the right direction as far as the front wheel hub bearings go? I searched Land Rover Parts & Rover Accessories From Atlantic British | Discovery, Range Rover, LR3, LR2, Defender, Freelander and Land Rover Series Parts & Accessories but found nothing of the sort... Am I looking on the wrong site perhaps?

This is the spot where grease fittings need to be (stock does not have as many). Plus regular U joints as you mentioned. Hope you don't need hubs, they are kinda one unit Hub Assembly With ABS Sensor (Same Fit As Genuine Part # TAY100060) - Land Rover Parts & Accessories
