Previous Experience
So I'm currently without a landie, but I do drive a saloon Rover car
I am intending in the future to get back into LRs but right now the universe isn't aligned for me and that just yet.
I need to get a better job sorted and better pay, and, well, of course, save up!
I started back in the 90s with a Series 3 Lightweight, graduated after about 5 years and some minor back problems to a 1984 RRC 5 door V8 5sp manual. That lasted about 2 years but it was already pretty tired unfortunately.
I then went to regular road cars with a breif stint on a D90 V8 Auto loaned to me for a year or so.
Life's a learning curve. When I had the Series I changed 3 engines, starting with a 3 bearing 2.25 petrol that when I bought it, it had no oil and I had no experience or knowledge. The Landrover Lightweight Club guided and assisted me, and my third engine change got me to the 5 bearing stronger 4 cyl 2.25L petrol, which was in when I sold it.
In time I'll end up back with a Disco again I'm sure, D2 TD5 hopefully.
Work wise, I'm licensed to drive anything with more than 3 wheels (B,C,D & +E) plus I've got the 2/3 UK HAM tickets and also manage radio support stuff here in the UK.
As a PS, I stuck winter tyres on the car last winter and was very surprised by the increase in traction, to the point the only thing that stopped me was snow drifts over 1ft high
