Do you know the "waving" rule?
I always wave, flash my lights or honk when I see another. They are getting rare here in NJ. I'm proud driving it since '03. I never removed my pelican cases off my roof rack for 5 years now. I always feel like Im going to an expedition even just going to the nearest grocery. Still, people ask me, whether just stopping for coffee or pumping gas if I do a lot of expeditions, I just say yes. Never been off-roading yet but I got a rig that can handle torture. Its also a conversation piece.
Awesome to see / hear about so many of you being "wavers". I get slightly pi$$ed off when LR/RR drivers just drive right on by without so much as a wave or honk.
I like to think we are a unique crowd and by waving or honking, we are helping keep the community spirit alive!!!
Props to all you who wave!!!

It seems more of a Jeep thing but I know I have had a few Disco owners give me the wave back on the road. There are only a few Disco's within a 40 mile distance so it does not happen often but I've had probably a 75% mutual wave response. It's closer to 100% when I am in my 2014 JK unlimited but for some reason I think Jeep Wrangler owners get the heads up when they get their vehicles that "the wave" is part of ownership
. I find myself waving to other Jeep Wranglers when I am in the Tank (my Disco 2 HSE) probably out of habit when I drive the JK but get waves back all the time, likely from acknowledging who is King on the road, and off road !!!! I personally find waving to other Disco owners to be more mutual than any other model of Rover, I simply refrain from waving to other models, not sure why, not errogance that's for sure but in my mind, they're just not a Disco. Have not seen a defender locally but would certainly go out of my way as that is my dream car one day soon. My $0.02 fwiw......

Just dont mind the beard!
HAHAHA! Yah man, you'll wave thinking you got a better rover than mine. lol
One day bro! Discos are getting rare around here.
A lot of people are buying d1's and 2's in the lower-income neighborhoods near me, b/c they're going cheap. They don't last too long though, b/c they don't maintain them. And they NEVER wave. Also, the people who live in section 8 housing have new Merc's, BMW's and Range Rovers, since they don't have to pay rent. Guess what? They don't wave either. ..I need to move...
