Once they lock up it's toast. You may wanna get another before you loose your pump bearing - coolant.

Tore into the center louvre panel today. found that of the 12 or so screws holding it in place (including the 4 holding the climate control module in place) only 5 were not missing or broke.

one whole tube of super glue later it is cleaned and ready to go back in...But I have a question for anyone who has been here before,

What 2 part epoxy is good for securing those dash parts that consist of metal mounts molded into the dash plastic? These would include the 2 screw mount at the very top of the unit as well as the brace under the radio that seems to be riveted to the firewall.

I have tried jb weld on one side of the fuse box door - metal onto dash plastic but it only lasted a year and it let go of the plastic.

any better epoxy out there?

Thanks

Can try the marine waterproof or UV cured. I've used em with ABS interiors and both work very well. They have flat irons for working with plastic that don't get super hot like a soldering iron does.

Got the dash back together with the help of JB wield 2 part industrial epoxy.
Also fixed a broken vent director slide with the same.

If anyone has issues with the drivers side temp control that hangs up towards the hot side, I now know why. The 2 bottom screws holding the a/c - heat unit can be broke letting the tension of the cables lift the rear causing the d/s temp cable to catch on the aluminum center brace just under the audio unit. No fix but to replace the whole center piece or to fabricate new screw mounts - using something like the epoxy.

The dash center is now tight as new and squeak free.

Good deal. If I'm not mistaken isn't the plastic glass fiber filled on the inner center housing? I'm pretty sure it is and if that's the case the JB Weld should do the trick on it, shouldn't need a revisit. Good work.

Hahaha, right? Honestly can't say I wanted one this size, but I found a deal I couldn't pass up, and grabbed it.

I use WEST system marine epoxy. It's expensive stuff, but works great. strong and seems to bond to anything

Just changed out my ABS Pressure Reducing Valve this week. I replaced the front calipers last weekend and went to bleed the brakes. Found out no brake fluid reaching rear wheels.

We all know our trucks don't stop on a dime, but can't really say how long I have not had rear breaks. Installed new PRV last night and bled the brakes; all OK now. I obviously can see a noticeable difference in stopping distance.

I took apart the old PRV and found it to be really dirty and gummed up. I guess the built up crud clogged the outlets to the rears.
