Mine is in the shop this week getting a few things done including the windshield. Multiple impacts in Dec 2020 have just been living with it. Safelite wouldn’t touch it so had to go to dealer.

Quote was $2140+tax, USAA swears they will reimburse 🤷‍♂️

Dak- I too am w USAA. This was same price I was quoted through local glass shop that the Dealer uses; although I was asked to pay an extra 75$ By the installer as they stated Safelite was reducing the claim amount. I’m going to call USAa direct about this.

I'd avoid Safelite like the plague, if possible. They screwed up an install on another vehicle of mine so badly it required a trip to the body shop so they could re-spray the paint around the windshield, and then they still had to come back twice to get the ADAS systems recalibrated. All of this also required me escalating to the regional manager as the local manager claimed "nothing is wrong". The regional guy didn't even argue the second he saw the photos.

I always avoided them because they sounded so shifty in their commercials.

We’ll, so much for Shatterx. Maybe it helped a bit, but a rock hit just put another small star burst crack despite the shatterx treatment. I thought it might be bs, but have it a try, and it clearly didn’t. Back to the glass place for another fix I hope. It looks small enough to repair. Add this to the bird strike smashed headlight. Thing is taking some direct fire.

Making me wonder if I should replace this thing with the new Bronco we ordered first night it was available.
Hi, first post here. Please PM me if you’re going to get rid of your Defender, I’m interested in buying it.

Had a branch fall end-down during the aftermath of Ida a couple weeks ago — right onto the windshield in front of drivers’ seat. Created a 12” circular spider web, sounded like a small explosion. Cracks radiating every direction. This was late-august. Dealer found one windshield in his own inventory but it was a customer order for replacement. None in the US, none in England, but due in England 9/7, and then due to Atlanta 9/27. I have a 9/30 appointment but we’ll see if the thing actually arrives or not. Non-heated, no HUD. Cost was $1200 for the part (I had to prepay since they don’t stock these, which I find amazing given the demand.) My insurance (Chubb) classifies that as Comprehensive, which means no deductible. They’ll just reimburse me when it’s all done.

Is your insurance covering the OEM?
