You can adjust the content of the HUD by using the instrument cluster display settings. Press the "o" button on the steering wheel, select HUD content, then you can adjust what is displayed on the HUD. You can have a tachometer that shows what gear you're in.

Finally ordered the tool- can't wait to "play" with it. First will be turning off start/stop permanently!!

Assume it will be similar to the Think diagnostic tool for my Porsches and the Ross-Tech VAG-COM for the Audi/ VW/s...

@skl49 I think it's way easier to use than the Ross-Tech VAG-COM. GAP is very much like an iPhone, where the Ross-Tech is like backdoor Linux.
You'll love it.

 

Got the tool today and not a good start for a computer illiterate like myself. Can't even get thru the activation phase. Says to read and agree on first page of app but the activation bar never lights up. Signed in several times to no avail. God I hate computers... will try again in a while but probably wait for one of my boys to help out the idiot old man... ugh!!!!!

 

Just before you give up, try a small sledge hammer - very satisfying. It usually worked on the old Defenders.

 

You can try activating within the app itself from your phone.

 

Got my tool activated and it definitely connects to the car- but need some help from people who understand computers better than I do- what list do I use to get to the MultiCAN selections I want? I see a long list but don't know which one to use to get to the selection of options I want. I selected several but did not get to anything close to the wording of MultiCAN....

First one will be MultiCAN 566 to get rid of auto stop/start!!!

How do I get I/O selection to show up on the list?

Have a look at this video I did for enabling the James Bond screen, just follow the steps but instead search for your required multican number The video was done on an earlier version of the tool but the initial steps are the same it's just on a G4 it takes a bit longer uploading the changes and resetting.
