It’s such a mind bogglingly huge bill for a headline unit. I don’t think I would be able to stomach that.

Agreed, very hard pill to swallow for longevity.

I drove on the left in Germany so they exist.

Maybe Simon's pricing isn't indicative of the cost for these in LHD but it's worth a shot.

An improved or redesigned unit might still have the same part number.
l assume it's the electronics that are failing.

l certainly hope it gets addressed, JLR surely can't just ignore it. There's obviously an issue with the part.

lf they have to replace both units on a vehicle, that's probably their profit on that vehicle gone.

It would be interesting to see if there are any trends to production date bi have a 2020 and no issue but after reading all these it seems to be a fairly common issue. I was wondering if during the semiconductor shortage if alternative chips were used which had quality problems?

LR144290 - Matrix LED for LHD - passenger side
Supersession(s): LR129873; LR181377

LR144293 - Matrix LED for LHD - driver side
Supersession(s): LR130009; LR181381

Look, I'm not saying this works or that this source is reliable and genuine OEM but I can shoot my SA a text and he's a real no BS guy who's been really delightful to work with.

$5k for an upgrade or $8k for another set of broken lights? You decide.

Thank you for this, definitely worth a consideration if you aren’t still under warranty. I think the biggest issue is they need additional programming AFAIK. I don’t think anyone has figured out how to use the GAP tool for this yet.

They seem to either go without warning (my driver’s side) or be halfway out before ****ting the bed entirely. My drivers looked/worked as normal until it didn’t.

I asked my sales guy this, and he didn't know so we walked back and asked the service technician right in the shop. He said no, and then added that we must be smoking something funny.

Simon did it in the video above with Pathfinder I think. If so, has to be possible with GAP.

I am under plenty of warranty and not having any problems but I have garbage night vision. If this is possible under $6k, I'll do the upgrade and sell my pair of working halos at $4500.

Someone really needs to see if we can get Simon in on this for some clarity.
