An old colleague of mine designed a part for BAFs to make the fans run faster as they were originally designed for high volume and low speed. Don't tell me that you secretly installed one in the DII to give you more power and fix all cooling issues ever known to man

I've said it before and I'll say it again... you amaze me Richard. I can't believe how fast you can throw all of this stuff together. Looks great!

@Fastercat Sorry working and responding, you are correct that roof racks are mounted that way. But the weight is distributed over all 4 or 6 mounting points. the front runner rack at 85 lbs uses 6 legs. For the highlift you are mounting 65 lbs to 2 legs, plus your rack. My concern would be the gutter deforming if you do any amount of off roading. The general though on the overlanding forums is around 220 lbs on the roof. with a baja or similar rack. I would think the same with your setup.
It may not be an issue but I tend to think about worse case.

I like the idea of having it up there, I’ll keep an eye on it, if I notice anything I’ll change it up. Maybe I could add 1 more support in the middle. Or widen the feet to spread the load. My rear supports are 4&1/2” wide, the front is clamped solid with unistrut window brackets around the factory bar. I’d estimate the weight of the rack around 90-100 lbs. just guessing. I wrestled it up there myself off a 6’ ladder trying not to drop it down and scratch anything. Lol
I'm definitely not super man anymore. Next time I’ll get some help.
I only plan to carry stuff up there on the toad and to camp sites. Serious off-roading will have me empty the rack.

Thanks Christina, I’m still dragging my but in the motor rebuild and the back bumper tho. Lol
I was a preferred installer and troubleshooter for big *** fans in southern Ontario, they have nice equipment.
Now I’m an electrical inspector so no more hard work anymore.

@Fastercat I think if you added a 3rd leg you would be fine,I have seen a lot of tippy trucks in my day. You seen to have the right idea load up to camp site then off load.
I usually just put light weight stuff up top, that I do not expect to need an keep the heavy stuff low.
For example spare tarp, my spare bits box, my walk out food and case with a couple of liters of oil, 1 of trans fluid, brake fluid and PS fluid. Maybe 50 - 60 lbs. All very low, Disco's are high enough already.
No roof top tent for me I sleep inside.
Responded to your Pm too.

Well I’m in training 4 hours from home for the next 11 weeks. Knowing my weekends will be with my kids and wife, I dropped greenie off at my mechanic buddies to install the headers and build a custom exhaust. It’s a father and son shop who are serious off roaders. Mostly jeeps but not everyone is perfect. Lol. Can’t wait to hear afterwards. I ordered some cel eliminators from amazon. Hopefully they’re decent.
in the mean time I’ll be driving the p38 on the weekends I’m home.

Well the headers and custom exhaust are done. Got a couple things to work out, throwing some codes, thinking o2 sensors, maybe from being banged around from changing exhaust? I ordered a new set of 4 so I’ll try those first. I have cel eliminators on the down stream sensors but I’m getting upstream errors as well.
Now.... the sound... it’s loud.... No drone at all...... but at partial to wot it’s excessively loud and not a tough or cool sound. Hmmmmm
full length hedman headers 2&1/2” pipe into 2 into 1 muffler, 1 2&1/2” tail pipe. No cats
thinking About adding a resonator tip

The easiest install I’ve ever done. Lol. 3M double sided tape, factory harness plugs right in
I have to learn the setup, see if I have apple CarPlay, it says it’s supported, I’ll play around with it for a bit
I found this on eBay for cheap $66 Canadian shipped.
so far seems great, the Bluetooth works great, better than the pioneer I took out. If this unit holds up for a bit I’ll post it in the d2 section
