Looks great. Had the same problem with the bugs last night trying to work on the defender. Pretty sure the mosquitoes got me so good that I am now anemic.

I cleaned it up a little more, popped the holes for the led tail lights and trailer plug. Gave it a quick spray as I’m working out of town again for another couple of weeks.

I pulled the front cover apart from my 4.6 motor to go thru it. Not happy with what I’ve found. Outer ring gear on oil pump is broke. Not sure how much oil pressure it would of still had like that. The bearings don’t look terribly bad.

Anyone with experience with these front covers please chime in. I posted it on the d2 forum as well. I realize there needs to be a tight tolerance for sufficient oil pressure. There is a bit of wear , not sure what is deemed acceptable or requires replacement.

I'll look at the pictures at work, much clear there on computer. First thoughts are...it doesn't look that bad.

Bumpers coming along nicely.

I guess I'd be concerned with the outside diameter of the housing, since the outer ring is broke...and could have potentially enlarged diameter. See some light scoring on the inner wall of the housing, but depth is hard to measure online. Of course, it could have broke just recently and may have had no affect. What does the rear cover look like?

Me, if building this to last...I'd replace.

Brian.

Not that I really need to put a rack on right now the price was too good to pass up. I keep telling my self to put it behind the garage till I finish my rear bumper but......... not sure I can. Lol
