Question 1994 disco I serpentine belt

Is it possible to run a serpentine belt to bypass the a/c compressor on a 3.9. I need to replace the bearing on the a/c clutch.

Most likely will need a different belt. I noticed that Rock Auto had them listed for both with and without AC. See attached routing page fom shop manual. Guess the tensioner will be rotated a bit.

I forgot to mention I looked at the manual and found the picture but I think im going to need to change the idler pulley or the tensioner.

Denso compressor fits 94-99 D1s. About $225 whole from places like Rock Auto. Or $35 used at a boneyard (could put in place while you take good one to fix). A spare used compressor is cheaper than a new tensioner. Guess you might be able to measure and buy a different belt, water pump has to turn in correct direction, etc. The minimum is water pump, you can drive truck for short distances (like 30 minutes) and charge the battery back up, and no power steering is a bear.

Yes, you need a different idler pulley. I'm not positive, but I don't think you can rotate yours to make it work.

I hope you saw the note about needing a D2 idler pulley.
