What is your stance on the project Charlie? Any chance to revitalize and have you revisit the same swap? As stated earlier in the thread, I have been working on the same setup as OP and have been sharing measurements and solutions to the all the things that need to happen. My engine is just getting painted up now, my oil pan has been modified and aside from the adapter plate and mounts, should be a drop in ordeal.

When I get a little further I will categorize my progress in my own thread, like raeuspius intends and ideally inspire people on the fence to join the 300"D"iscovery club.

Default New CLEAN Build thread.

I am complete in my task of having a well running Diesel Disco1 ! The link to my new and clean thread is here.

https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...68/#post482862

To keep the thread clean, please post commentary only relative to the build and in their sections. I will be posting sectioned threads vs. one huge thread.

I am doing this project, for sure. I stopped driving the old mercedes and start it every week just to keep it lubricated. But my Rover is my daily driver (well, I have others but it is my favorite) so I want to do it all at once. I am following the new thread now and will only have to deal with the additional issue of the transmission.

Really, my only hesitations have been the adapter and the transmission. I have lifted my truck out of the oil pan problem.

Forgive me if I missed it. I think I read every post in this thread...

How did you account for the extra weight of the new motor? Did you replace the front springs with some heavier ones or did the lift kit you installed take care of it?

I put rear springs off my 95 into the front of my 98. gained nearly 3.5" lift and no allignment issues.

check out https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...68/#post482862

this is the link to my complete build. I really didn't go into the lift at all but nearly everything else is there along with access to my potobucket page with al photos taken along the way relevent or not so...

did you ever sell or finish your swap
