Just be sure to leave extra headboard material before the final cut. I used a thin wheel grinder for the entire job. No leaks and they work perfect.
hmmm.... Interesting.... I want sunroofs!! but not necessarily factory ones.. dont care if they have electronics just a nice view of the stars!

So sounds like a lot of you had issues with the sunroof, but none of you really got at how you fixed it and I’m assuming you all didn’t give up or seal them shut?

Is the problem:
1. The drain tubes
2. The seal mounting the sunroof to the roof
3. Seals within the sunroof itself

I looked for years for an excellent example non sunroof SD

my advice - sell your non-sunroof D1 to an enthusiast - buy another project that has sunroofs if you must have them

I second that. I was really lucky to find my ‘97 SD as my first disco as I had no idea the frustrations people have with their sunroofs, makes me feel like I have something special/valuable. I couldn’t imagine doing what prairie boy is going out of their way to do, when sunroof discos are a dime-a-dozen. There’s far more examples of people covering up their sunroofs entirely to mimic an SD!

*sigh* It’s your money, dude...
