Yes it heats the intake to prevent freezing and uneven expansion.

I would not have called it the water jacket gasket. It is the throttle body heater, and what it does is keep throttle from icing up and freezing in 3000 rpm position, just as you top the mountain and start down....

Very cheap fix.

Bet you have more K Seal in other places, if they took out the stat they could not get things to cool off. Might want to try a 180 stat to replace your missing one.

yes danny it is......its interesting tho....the screws to that tb heater/water jacket.....go into the tb housing ...as in when the screw are out....you can look into the tb.....which got me thinking....I really did not find any of the kseal on my head gasket....but there was a lot in this heater jacket.....hmm

i doubt even with the seal this way though that water was getting into combustion this way.....like through the screw threads? any one have thoughts a on this....I had expected to find K seal on the head gasket tho....since the smoke stopped after putting it in and then I find most of it here???

Timebus,

The K seal will circulate everywhere, and look for crevices to sqeeze into. That includes the throttle body warmer, heater core, etc.

That is exactly why so many of us avoid the use of any miracle leak sealer. It ends up in the darndest places. It will by nature attempt to seal any and every opening it can squeeze into. It tends to clog things that you do not need clogged as it cannot control where it goes. If you could direct it to a specific spot to do just a specific thing, it would be a miracle.

It is like trying to be precise with a sledge hammer.

Kinda like snorting Kaopectate for a sinus infection....

The other Murphy's Law of Fundamental Fhsics is that once one leak is stopped, pressure will increase 0.0000000001 PSI and make the next weak spot leak. Moral - these mechanic-in-a-jar should be reserved for temporary duty where the owner admits that he may have extra cost involved to clean that up along with original repair. Note: No offense intended to Jar Head Mechanics (Semper Gumby!).

Of course, in the after life, marketing weasels may find they are assigned the task of holding the ice water in with those products, right next to the department where customer service managers and political operatives are slow roasted over hickory coals....

PB Blaster, heat from small torch, etc. They do make bolt extractors where you drill a hole in the stud, then put in an "easy out" extractor. Or you may have to drill it out very carefully. Sometimes tightening slightly will help break it loose. Hitting end slightly with a hammer, etc.
