Haha come on give a brother a little credit! Glad you figured it as well. Can't wait to see the lobe that was riding on.

Brad , so bad lifter...as you expected. So now you're replacing all of them as if one goes, the rest are likely to follow? Are you feeling like you needed that whole kit? How did you know it was that one? is it visible or you heard it when you ran it before. were you able to check by removing plug wires?

If you are replacing one, you are replacing them all and the cam and maybe push rods depending how they look. Usually more than one are on their way out and the cam is worn funky also. You put a new mating surface on it and it will wear the cam differently OR just dish out your new tappets as well..

Right is the good one, middle is on its way out and the one on the left is the loud, shot one. Which looks exactly the same as Colos. You cant tell from this pic but they get dished out mostly from using the wrong type of oil or not changing it.

The bottom cam got new tappets without being replaced and well it is being replaced now..

Unplugging the spark plug wires was an idea so the engine wouldnt turn over during a bump start...

Damn double or nothing huh? Does it go away when you rev the engine? My guess would be yes and I dont recommend switching to anything BUT Rotella T. If the engine still ticks with Rotella it's gonna tick with anything else you put in there. Only thing that MIGHT help a sticky lifter is MMO.

Like I told Colodisco - there is only one way to find out...

well we're pretty sure it's the rocker arms or related and the noise is coming directly from the left and right covers. it might be on to marvel mystery until i can properly get that job done. ColoDiscos current write up is helpful.

took awhile today to get the tick to reappear. we felt we could hear the lightest very rapid ticks from the same area.

How much was it and what did you think of the quality. I have seen a lot of complaints on the lack of quality of AllMakes. It would be good to get feedback on the other kits that people have used.
