I run no cats and a thrush welded muffler sounds awesome like a Chevy V8, but I do get a little popping when I rev the engine no matter what I do, guessing from cats gone?

I almost went with Thrush but with a coupon code to advance I got a Magnaflow SS muffler for $50. It is straight through design but has lots of packing to help take the bite out. I think there are some remants of my cats in the flowmaster because its rattling real bad. Hopefully all is well Thursday!

Edit: I can handle some popping on decel but I can't bear the real tinny hollow sound at about 2700 rpm I'm getting now. Im really hoping its just the chambered muffler.

Finally sorted the cruise control out. Just all new vacuum lines and a new pump, and now it works. Next up: transmission filter and fluid change. 7k miles in the last 3 months.

Yes the popping is because you don't have cats.

Not gonna lie, that truck there is sexy. Looking good.

I just got my AB engine and put valve covers on. This pic was before valve covers. Waiting on PCV insert and my flywheel adapter and new harmonic balancer. Then we'll be ready to break it in and get my poor boy back on the road after 3 long Rover-less months.

I'm OK with the pop on decel like I said, just want to smooth out the middle of the power band. Will report back tomorrow.

Mine is not too bad with the drone sound, I did like the turbo 2 muffler previously on it, some sound but a lot less loud with cats on so would probly sound great without cats, hoping the welded muffler lasts longer since that one was only a couple years old when rotted out

I picked up a stainless MagnaFlow from Advance. It was 86.99 and I used a coupon code for $30 off. It's really nice quality. I'm going to throw a 6" resonator in front of the muffler for good measure.

I pulled out the alpine windows to fix some rust forming on the bottom edge. Not looking forward to putting them back in.
