Plugs (NGK BPR6ES) and 8mm Kingsborne wires. Oil and filter. New T-stat (Stant 45858).

Great day to work outside.

Just did the same plugs and wires myself. Got a tstat to do as well. Post an update if you can on that. Like to know how it goes.

There wasn't anything 'wrong' with my t-stat other than I am having a difficult time getting air out of the heater core. The one I took out was fine and did have the jiggle pin so I'm not optimistic there will be a difference based on this move. But it was a nice day.

It is an easy job with a single edge razor and some scotch brite. Siphon out 1.5 - 2 gal of coolant through the radiator (5/8" OD plastic tubing) and pour it back in when done. Most time is spent cleaning the surfaces of the intake manifold and t-stat housing. 30 min, tops.

Got the rear converted to panhard using all factory parts, replaced the blower with the Pontiac unit, and finishing up the rotoflex delete tonight. Write ups with lots of pictures coming soon for all three.

Default Fuel pump

So my fuel pump finally took a complete crap when I tried to leave for lunch at work yesterday. Left her overnight and this morning I hit Miami British and picked up a new pump, whole unit, just easier for me, and a new seal.
Job took maybe 20 minutes. No crap it’d been 10 minutes but I couldn’t wrap my head around the fact that the previous owner already had a pump put in and it had NO SEAL. No wonder my truck overflowed fuel at the pump once. Good lord. Also had no plate seal. That I had to order in.

While at MB I also grabbed a nice BW fan clutch and rubber seal for the fuel cap. That’ll be tomorrow amongst other things.

So today I put in my two new flex a lite ac fans. Kinda a pain cuz they won’t match the existing mounting points but improvise and overcome.
Also I took to removing the cancer rust as each end of my cowl gutter. Nasty. Dremel cut and grinder the cancer and then epoxied some steal plating over the openings and epoxied over all. It’s gonna get raptor lined so it’ll be a-ok. Prob bought years of life to those panels and it’s not structural so I’m good with it.
Next weekend I start the raptor lining. Looking forward to that!!

Post New guy here with 2002 Disco 2,

HI , I am fixing head gaskets on the engine and adjusting timing chain.
Got this car with a slipped chain, after opening cyl heads found water leaks from gaskets.
Manual says torque of only 20 NM on heads!! should I keep follow that or give a good hand socket tight?
Should I change Crank sensor , now at 92k miles on engine.
Should O2 sensors be changed in pairs?

any inputs appreciated!

Put on new trim kit on the front seats - it's from Exmoor. Watched the videos a couple times, then it was straighforward - give or take two hours to remove old crap and reinstall the new.

Very nice! Always wanted to do that to my early D1 but I retired it and got a D2 Kalahari instead.
