Spliced a replacement bulb socket in the passenger rear side bumper cap. The old one was corroded and broken.

I also put Rain-X on every piece of glass, including the side view mirrors and headlights.

 

Finally tackled the a/c today.
Long story short, it was the a/c switch. Took if apart, cleaned the contacts, bent the contacts up a smidge, and voilá! Conditioned Air.

 

I installed restored and painted brush guard, roof rack and ladder. Not bad for a daily driver with 260k on the clock.



Handsome 96 D1

 

Today I flushed my 94 D1 brake system. And I got a surprise (see photo)!

Left rear. Bilstein assembled in Mexico. Re-assembled in Richland WA with high strength thread locker.

Hmmm, I've had this happen on two successive Bilsteins on the left rear corner. Chaulked it up to bad luck but went with Terrafirrma +2 because of cost. No problems so far knock on wood.

 

Replaced Fuel Pump last night / this morning.
Saw a bit of crispness.

 

Wow you are lucky it wasn't worse. I just replaced the little pump that is plugged into, I suggest anyone to replace the whole unit, it works fine but takes 2 tries to start in the morning, I assume a crack in one of the plastic hoses so that it doesn't stay primed, I need to replace the whole thing.

 

Installed a Hayden 2991 severe duty fan clutch. Was having some trouble keeping her cool when using the A/C (e-fans operate as they should). Hopefully this helps. Weather this summer has been crap in the northeast.

Still chasing a rear tail light issue.

 

Front rotors and pads today. Brembo & Akebono. Nice to have brakes again.
