I did have to trim, running it without shroud is working against yourself. But it would get you home without the shroud. I measured carefully and made the surgery as precise as I could, so far no issues, but balance is important. Blades with nicks and chunks out of them are problems, and owners are reminded to use eye protection when working around this. One owner had a chunk of blade come off and pierce the radiator. I also selected a blade with a metal backing plate rather than all plastic.

But what I did is only another leaf under the shade tree, what is important is keeping your Rover running cool so you can look cool while enjoying the outdoors.
