Update:

The exploration into the bottom end of the engine has uncovered some very alarming details as to the care and attention taken by CannibalV8 during their assembly & inspection process!! The attached photos show:

• Obvious wear/damage to the crank & bearings due to the crank not being machined true.
• Pitting to the bearings reflecting dirt or contamination was present and not cleaned off of the crank or bearing surfaces when the bearings were installed.
• Even though there is only just a bit more than 1000 miles on the engine since the build was complete, there’s obvious scoring damage to the crank & bearings as a result of the metal floating in the engine caused by the low oil pressure.

Steve’s initial response to the photos was, and I quote, “The Alloy Layer on the Mains, are engineered to absorb”, a promise to begin shipping parts on the 16th, followed by insults as to the ability to diagnose or identify damage to an engine towards the shop working on my Disco, and the number of Land Rover Certified specialists they solicited to offer a second opinion, and now another 7 days of silence.

As I spelled out on the other board - it does not look good. Hopefully Cannibal will make it right...

OMG and then "engineered to absorb"! I've seen less main damage than that on an oil starved pilot engine that ran for 6k!

UPDATE:
Simply put… Pretty apparent Steve has now reneged on his second agreement I outlined in a previous update to this forum under the same title. So, lets tally this up; he built & delivered an engine with bad parts, refused to honor his own written warranty DTD 1/28/2016 (Tommy Boy fans unite), Agreed to, and later reneged on a subsequent post-warranty agreement DTD 3/4/2016, and then embellished as to a parts shipment in an email DTD 3/16/2016 “Working on the Build Back Ship Out Package Here....”, and after dragging this on for over 2 months, now will not reply to emails, calls, or texts.

So, with that said, I am done chasing rainbows with Steve. Lucky8 now has full authority to get me back on the road.

I would contact a lawyer and have them send a letter to Steve asking for a full refund + labor to correct the issue.

How did you pay? Can you dispute it with your credit card company?

So sorry to hear this. Cannibal is done. I'm not sure if you are active on the other forums, but a few more posts and they are out of business.

I even sent links to everyone I know not on the forum. I agree with Abran, a few posts to a few other forums and perhaps the Land Rover subreddit. Word will get around. Its hard to tell how many sales they will have lost because of this.
