Wink

It's $450 fun every time a bearing goes bad.

Should I be using any grease on the D2 when I replace the bearing?

also, if i get the rebuild version from roverlandparts, it does not come with the ABS sensor. Is this as easy as moving from the one that is there now?

thanks
matt

I bought one from roverland parts and if I were to do it again I would save some money and get a used one elsewhere. Yes they come with an ABS sensor and they are easy to replace anyways.

You can't replace the bearing. You need to replace the entire hub assembly and it does not need grease. Only replace if it is bad though. Just because it is leaking gear oil does not mean it is bad.

If your brake fluid is low, you probably have a blown caliper seal. Pull your brakes apart and see, and while you are at it, order a new set of brake pads today cause you are going to need them.

Default change hub or o-ring

ok...after many weeks of delays i finally have this assembly apart
when i rotate the old hub, i dont hear anything unusual (no marubbing or grinding)

if the hub is bad, would it be very clear

it feels a bit grittier than the one i got from roverland, but then again mine has 150K on it.

so do i replace whole hub or just o-ring. i am happy to get a $200 credit with roverland for other stuff.

btw...i know the issue is hub or the o-ring as the purple grease was coming right out

thanks for your advice
