Rear Axle O Ring Replacement
I am replacing my rear axle O Rings and pinion seal today, as all are leaking (no, breather's not clogged). I will take and post pictures with any luck, but have a question somebody can hopefully answer for me.
RAVE calls for STC 50554 to be applied to the axle. Anybody know what kind of sealant that equates to?

Red loctite. See below.
Britcar (UK) Ltd > STC50554 LAND ROVER LOCTITE JOINING COMPOUND (G)
I know......LR has their own part numbers for this sort of stuff. Gets confusing at times.

So an impact wrench combined with freeze off didn't budge the axle / hub nuts. I think I'm going to have to heat these suckers to get them off.
My question is, if I do that, will I be able to re-use the nuts or will I need to have replacements on hand?

If last person in there used anything similar to Loctite red, it has to be heated to 500 degrees to remove. IMHO that would not be enough to hurt a good bolt. Some of the junk out of China today, who knows?
