Hello all!

So i'm finally getting around to doing my head gasket. Surprisingly the teardown went along pretty smoothly. I planned ahead and everyday for 4 days I soaked everything down with PB Blast....LOVE that stuff, even the exhaust manifold bolts came off with easy.

I'm a bit concerned with the color of the valves/cylinders on the drivers side. I have attached a pic, I"m figuring it's possible from overheating when my coolant ran low, but I"m not sure.

On the Passengers side, there seems to be a lot of carbon build up on both the heads and pistons. SHould I clean the tops of the pistons off with anything?

The TOP pic is the drivers side and the BOTTOM is the passengers side.

You'll be wanting to check for flatness (spec .002 inch, your printer paper is about .0038). Machine shop can mill them for you, and tank them for clean up. ABout $200 total.
