Dying my Discovery
Hi Lad's,
I decided today that I would take my truck to the Dealer to get Dye put in the engine oil in order to track down this pesky oil drip I've been bitching about.I figured I would duck out of work early to go get this done, when the Snap-On guy walked through the door.We got to talking about my issue, and then he mentioned that he just happened to have the whole dye detection kit out in his truck,so I figured it would save some time if I just carried out the procedure myself and purchased the kit.Pretty neat stuff,I got 6 1ounce(six treatments) bottles of dye,a purple UV flashlight and a pair of amber goggles for about $70CDN.I figured this was a pretty good investment for a Land Rover seeing this dye could also be used in trannys, diffs, cooling systems, and also AC systems.I treated the oil early this evening, and will let it run through for a couple of days before giving it the once over with the light to see where this stupid leak is originating from, then I'll go to the dealer and let them take a look see before they do the next servicing.

I guess this kit can come handy. Just had my discodyed 2 days ago and went for the light and goggles today. Couldn't find much, but at least I know it ain't major.
