Also, I am getting an education on the "three amigos" deal, but still don't fully understand the connection or significance of this issue. I'll keep researching the forums, but if anyone can give a quick rundown on this, it will be appreciated.

There are lots of things that can cause the Amigos... do you have just the three yellow lights? Or do you have the three yellow lights plus the red BRAKE light? I have dealt with the Amigos issue twice on my '04 D2. The first time it was a faulty ground from within the modulator- that was repaired using Josh's mod for an external bypass. There's a sticky for that at the top of this D2 section. The second time, which was just about 2 weeks ago, I actually got the three amigos plus the red BRAKE light and the codes indicated a wheeel speed sensor. Just because the codes indicate a sensor- that does not necessarily mean the sensor is bad! In my case, the sensor was fine and the hub was bad. I replaced the hub with a used one from Will Tillery (roverguy.com), he offers a 1yr warranty on his used parts and it only cost me $115 shipped!

If you've got ABS/TC issues, get the codes read first and go from there. It could also be seriously worn rotors causing harmonic vibration and throwing a sensor fault. At 95k, you're at the right mileage for hubs to start failing and almost certainly overdue for front rotors. I'm at 94k, and did front rotors & pads and replaced the driver-side front hub within the last 1000 miles.

Default Three amigos

Thanks, makes sense. Having said that, a wheel speed sensor problem doesn't seem too huge. Still seems like a lot of focus on the forums on the three amigos. I realize there are other potential causes that it is important to rule in or out - I take it some have considerable financial consequences...
