oil pump tool?

Default oil pump tool?

I was reading the service manual, as I'll be replacing several parts in the engine at the weekend.
The manual shows a special tool for reassembling the front cover.
It appears that tool is used to line up the outer oil pump gear with the crank gear.
Is there any way to assemble the cover without the specialty tool? Or any other more common tool that can be substituted?
I was hoping to leave the radiator in too, but it looks like I'll need room for an impact wrench to break loose the crankshaft pulley nut. Torque spec says 200 ft lbs.
Are there any tricks for replacing the oil pump?
I'm replacing the front driveshaft as well, so that will make dropping the oil pan easy.

Crankshaft bolt can be loosened with a long breaker bar against the frame rail, and bumping the starter.

I just took it in and out, rotating the pump a little by hand until I got the alignment close enough to go on. No special tool necessary.

Another way, since the pan has to come off, wedge a 2x4 in between a crank lobe and block and undo the crank bolt. Also the way to get it torqued back on.
