My 2000 disco has the same issue, all steering components tight and happy. Tons of free-play in the wheel and bouncy when I hit a pot hole at speed. Same as my old 03, only more prevalent. I will adjust today and hopefully that will help the issue. Wish I could rebuild the box, tho.
