im assuming you have a multimeter. disconnect the ecm and the coil. do a resistance test between the ecm connector and the coil connector. you already know the pin for the ecm....all you gotta do is find it on the coil connector. if the connection test ok, then its your ecm....hopefully, you checked your grounds as well.

I checked the ground it was ok.

I got the multimeter out and rigged up test leads and everything checked out OK on all the connections. So, that pretty much makes it the ECM.

Ideas on the next step?

Any ideas on the next step?

Will the new/used ECM need to be programmed with a TestBook/T4?

Here is just a wild thought off the top of my head, have you replaced the crank sensor?
It is cheap and guaranteed to fail and or throw all kinds of monkey wrench's into the works.
That is what controls your spark.

I replaced the CKP six months ago. It failed and the Disco just stopped. Replaced the CKP and the Disco came right back to life.

Default Any resolution on this issue?

I am having a similar problem. I replaced all 8 spark plugs and wires on my '99 Disco II but am still having the following fault codes after 150 miles worth of driving:

P1300 - Multiple Misfire
P0304 - Cyl 4
P0307 - Cyl 7
P0300 - Multiple misfire, excess emissions
P0308 - Cyl 8

Note that the vehicle seems to be running fine. There is no roughness or lack of power.

Thanks!
Jon
