Default Stuck removing alternator pulley

Hey guys, trying to replace the bearings on my alternator to fix this awful whining noise, but I've spent the better half of my afternoon trying to get the 22mm nut off the alternator pulley. Are there any special tricks?

The guide here just says stick the internals in a vice:

https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...ssembly-51103/

I've tightened my vice down at much as I can and even using a breaker bar on my ratchet I still can't budge the nut. It eventually just pops out of the vice. Also used some penetrating bolt remover spray.

Oui.
You will need a new alternator soon.
Denso is the way to go.
British Pacific has them about $250 or so.

You may get it yourself and if you do - hats off.

An impact gun may help. Sometimes the pounding of the impact will break it free where as the progressive force of a breaker bar won't.

An impact gun is the way to go. I was able to hold the pulley with my hand (with a glove on) and break it loose with my impact gun.

Well I tried some suggestions, to no avail. I had a little 18v impact, didn't do much at all. Then borrowed an air gun and hooked it up to my compressor, and that just yanked the alternator right out of my hand and the vise. Tempted to just cut it off at this point, and try and find a replacement nut somewhere. Or drop it off at some shop and just hand them $10 to knock it off if they can.

EDIT: maybe heat it up with a propane torch for a bit? I'll go try that in the morning.
