What I would do is with both heater hoses disconnected, run fresh water through it.

Just to bring this back to life, I think I might have gotten this
it’s been hot here in Ontario 40 plus with humidity
I filled expansion tank almost full
ac on and a good highway drive 1 hour to my moms
75 miles per hour all the way thermostat wide open as that highway run with ac on I was running 195-199 most of the way
I think that pushed most of the air out as I filled that tank pretty good. I don’t hear it now

hopefully don’t hear it tomorrow
