What are you up to? I love watching homemade fab projects. Some turn out good, some turn out not so good, I learn something new from each one.

Just doing the work that comes with running 35's on the rover, without breaking stuff. An axle swap.

Toyota axles onto the rover?

I purchased new tires today, I decided on 285/75R16 BFG M/T KM2. I originally wanted 255/85R16 but they were over 90 [a tire] more for those, plus they had to order them from off island [which would take 8 to 10 weeks] while the 285's could be delivered from the depot this week. I should have them on the Disco before the end of the week.

Rebuilt my front drive shaft. (found out my rear drive shaft was loose)
Next onto a brake rebuild.

Fzj80 axles. I didn't want to spend 1500$ just on Ashcroft's axles to only run a 33'' tire (under warranty) when I could buy two Toyota axles for a lot less (in my case) with stronger 4.11 R&P's and dumb strong axles. It's a lot of work though.

I'm buying some 315/75r16's and some steels probably next paycheck.

Mind me asking how much you got? I've been considering this option to pay for the replacement BEFORE I crack the Stock one.

I found what may be my best craigslist buy to date. While doing my daily Land Rover search on craigslist I ran across this ad from a guy in Three Rivers selling an 03' for ($1). I clicked on the ad knowing that the car wasn't really one dollar, just to see what he wanted. It turns out that he wanted $3K OBO (not bad), but what really caught my eye is what else he was selling.
He had an unused Voyager Roof Rack still in the box and wrapped up for $500. I almost called him at 6am to make sure nobody else got it, but I waited until 8am and had my new roof rack on and installed by noon. It has 4 light mounts up front and 2 in the rear.

Here is the ad and some pictures. 2003 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY CLEAN!!!
