I put my new wiper blades on and seem to work fine. Noticed today that if you have the wipers on and go into reverse the rear wiper will do one swipe. Love it!

Locally a D2 wiper blade is 21.00 per blade. For basically a 4.00 style plain blade. D1 wise = a ton of brands and types available. To each their own, but all my D2’s except for one = D1 wiper arms.

Did some weight savings, pulled front sway bar and "cross member" that the driveshaft hits....will pull the rear sway bar later this week.

People tend to use 18’s on a D2 with the D1 wiper arm & I guarantee 21’s work & you should use them. Also I’ve heard the aftermarket D1 arms seem to be cheaper vs OEM D1 arms, so go figure. I’ve only used original D1 wiper arms.
This!! I switched to D1 arms years ago when I got my D2. The last couple sets of wiper blades started missing spots......bent wiper arms a little bit and whammo. Problem solved.

Concerning the D1 arms and 21" blades, Below is the increase coverage of the blades. Point is, the D2 arms will give you less coverage and D1 arms give you more flexibility.

I did not have the problem of missing spots with my D1 arms, maybe they were already bent to increase the pressure.

D1 21"

D2

I made the D1 arm mod and can't complain. An additional benefit is to get strong springs with the new arms, which replace the worn out springs. Wipers from Costco work great, and they have them on sale from time to time. I'll try out quality silicon wipers next time, lets see if they last much longer.

To prolong the life of your rubber wiper blades wipe them down with a paper towel soaked with plain white vinegar.
You’ll thank me later...
