Yeah, it felt like opening a can of worms. It looks like silicon, the small lumps feel like wax. The PO had a blown had gasket, so he probably tried various types of snake oil.
Also, I replaced all hoses. The thin line from the radiator to the reservoir broke like macaroni.

a little late but ran 3 moderate to hard trails on Friday. hard to believe these two pics are within a few miles of each other, one super dry and dusty and the other in the woods and felt like a rainforest with a stream running through parts of the trail.

Installed the GROM Bluetooth adapter and routed the microphone up to my rear view mirror all nice and pretty. Sounds infinitely better than the old FM transmitter, especially for podcasts.

I had to cut out on of the Rear License plate holder Rivet nuts, and luckily still have my rivet nut tool from when I installed a ladder. The old screw head had disintegrated so now the old one is rattling around in there, but the license plate is secure.

Prep to :
  • change out the right engine mount it is completely gone now
  • Crush washer replacement for oil drain plug
  • Grease everything - a lot of wading
  • Try and get the never to enough cursed rubber inspection port covers in

Those look nice! I’d put some non-skid material on top of them. Either grip tape or spray
