What did you do with your DII today?

So, left Philly around 12:30 Sunday and cruised west. Spent Sunday night in Morgantown, PA then started early and pushed her pretty good all the way to 26 mi east of Amarillo, TX at 6:20 this morning when battery light popped on and then this … and she stalled out and rolled to a stop. Got towed to an Amarillo shop and now hunting down an alternator.
The reason I ask is that the alternator died in my truck a year and a half ago when my son was driving home from college the last time after his graduation. It was a 200 mile trip, and he called me about halfway to say the battery light was on. I was pretty sure that meant the alternator had gone kaput, but I told him to keep driving. There was not much more I could do at that point. He got about another 75 miles before the engine died, so AAA got to bring the truck the last 25 miles to my house.

I have had continuous P0101 and 0505 codes for 3 months on my 03 Disco. (Which I have owned since 04.) So today, I decide to Odin take it from here. I have gathered some oak and birch trees for the long boat. I have finished preparing the sacrifices. It will be a glorious VIKING FUNERAL! More than likely it won’t make it to Valhalla, Something else will go wrong on the way.
not bad for a first post.

My alternator died a few months back while driving on the freeway. The M & S lights do flash. Eventually other lights come on, then they go off and the speedo tach go to zero, then it dies. I made it exactly 13.8 miles, headlights, AC, wipers all off. Though I do have an electric fan so I think that really sucked the juice down.

Just curious, how much advance notice did you have before the truck stalled out? Did you get flashing M&S lights too, since low voltage commonly triggers them?

It would have been better if it wasn't 11 degrees and 6:20am... but...

Decided to try to get the '00 Disco 2 tagged up in AZ this afternoon. I made it over to emissions, only to find that since the ECU plug was loose, they would not do the test. (In AZ, you apparently have to be able to plug in the unit with one hand). So, I cruised home... removed the plastic panel under the driver's side, and cut a new rectangle for the ECU plug, and popped it back in tight. Drove BACK to emissions, and passed the test. But, it was now 4:45... so no point in running to ADOT for tags... they close at 5pm.
So... morning was driving (Gallup to Phoenix), afternoon was a car wash - quick repair to ECU and Emissions test. That's what I did to the DII today.
Oh... and I learned the front skylight pops up when the car wash blow dries my roof. (The front one doesn't work, the rear does).

This reminds me that I need to clean out my blower motor again and sort out my broken up windshield bottom scuttle cowl.
