Replaced the head gaskets on my newly acquired ‘04. I ordered headliner material so that will be in the near future. BTW my flywheel bolts for my LR3 came in today, finally![/QUOTE
You probably know, but always good to check for any leaks in the sunroofs while the headliner is down. I wish I had done this!
Yes definitely, thanks. My ‘99 D2 had an issue with that after the PO had just had the headliner replaced somewhere.
Pulled the required parts off my disco and started lifting the wife's this evening. Only go the rear done. I'll do the front in the morning. Proved you can lift the rear without removing the wheels.
Also, if anyone is curious what a Disco with rear springs in the front looks like:
Installed a Nissens Radiator, Britpart 180F Thermostat, T-pipe, and new air filter. Removing the battery compartment and airbox on each side makes removing the radiator super easy. I also avoided getting coolant all over the place by doubling up some thick garbage bags and opening it up inside the engine compartment when disconnecting the hoses. Took about 3-4 hour total.
Finished the install on the wife's 3.5" lift. This is the same lift I did a write up on a few years back. The "$120 DIY Lift" or whatever I called it. You can find the link in my signature.
Rides great, steers better than mine ever did for some reason. Happy all around. Wife loves it.
Not the greatest welds on the shock towers by plenty strong enough for what it is. I got rushed pretty badly at the end cause we were a half hour late to meet some friends for a hike.
I haven't driven Myrtle in a few weeks so I did an "Italian tune up". I dumped some Berryman's in to half tank of fuel, drove around in second gear at 50MPH with the revs at 4200RPM for about 30 minutes.
She semi kinda purrs like a kitten/mountain lion now. lol
