water pump gasket failed right as I got to work, got lucky and noticed low fluid when hooking up air compressor to fill a coworkers flat tire. topped off the tank, restarted the car and coolant promptly began flowing out and all over the ground. Got it towed home and ripped apart last night, hard to tell before stripping it down that it was the water pump or not but the gasket had a gnarly crack around/near the top right bolt (one of the ones that goes through to the water jacket). Going to get that replaced today and the front main seal while I have it all apart and hopefully clean up at least one oil leak...

We walked into town to get some lamb neck from our local butcher. We came home to found a DHL notification slip stuck in our door stating “Package is in front of black Jeep.”
Jeep...

What a coincidence! Just yesterday I walked to my local butcher to get some lamb neck!

Just got word my 3 fuel tank pressure sensor faults were caused by the fuel pump, a one year old BOSCH fuel pump! Sorted now, moving on to the front brakes to change the slide pins and the pads, lot of vibrating going on there.

Fixed my cowl the drivers side outer edge gave up, some sheet plastic, JB plastic weld and few curse words got is sorted. It is rock solid now, although needs some paint.

Also went around and re-torqued my exhaust manifolds and Y pipes a couple of loose bolts and nuts, she is quieter now but I can hear all the other noises, SAI pump is really winding up, and I seem to have a little rocker tick at idle (660-700) vanishes just past 780-800 rpm nothing terrible.

After owning my 04’ DII since May and working on it incessantly I’m now for the most part just driving it!

Three amigos come on at random. Need to do Option B. Replaced the Purge valve with the Hyundai/Kia part on Monday. Code went away!

Replacing the catalytic converters With Magnaflow high flow replacement cats next week. Hoping that will improve my 9-11 mpg (combined city/highway) in a stock truck.

After a failed reman Ebay fuel injector almost Kamakazied my motor I replaced the Injectors with genuine Bosch and all is fine. Got lucky on that one.

Future projects:

- PCV mod
- In-line Thermostat
- Option B
- replace weather stripping between radiator and cowl (it’s not sealing there now and I know I’m losing some cooling efficiency from that)
- replace rear bumper with steel off road bumper. OR rear bumper is badly cracked.
- wire brush frame and apply new under coating in areas that need it. Mainly a touch up job.

Man, that seems like a smaller list in my head. At least it’s all stuff I can handle and won’t need to spend $$$’s on at the shop (except for welding the cats!).

Yesterday thermostat rubbed against a pulley wheel as I pulled up to a client's house at the peak of a mountain 1.5 hours from civilization. Call the stealership, no TD5 in stock but can have an OEM fo $99 the next day. No thanks. Call the local Land Rover Legend (he may be too humble to accept that title) @ Blue Ridge Rover Works and he sends a used thermostat via my pregnant Mrs who came to rescue me. I do the repairs in the client's driveway after I was done with my work @ 5:00. The client was impressed. I was grateful for Blue Ridge Rover Works coming in clutch so I could get home and order another thermostat...

Today I swapped my Disco II windshield wiper arms for the D1 version.
