Added some good recovery points to the front bumper yesterday, you can see the weld on shackles in the 2nd picture pretty well. Gotta get the rear bumper built with recovery points on it! Then welded the front bumper straight to the frame to take up the movement it had had before when winching. Ended up using the winch some yesterday and it was a big success.

Then loaded up the wife and the pooch and we hit the trails for a while. She ended up driving the first couple hours. She's been wanting to get more wheel time lately. Even talking about taking separate vehicles some in the future!

We had a buddy meet up with us after work, but no pictures since it was after dark. That was our first time night wheeling and we had a blast. Took turns getting stuck. Got the first real test on the kinetic rope. Awesome piece of gear.

Buddie's rig is almost identical. D2 on 3" lift with 33" muds, both have CDL. We made it to a hole that we've both hit several times in the past, but it's been rutted out in the last few months. Both of us got stuck on our axles and had to be pulled out by the other. Unfortunately he had worse luck than I and blew up the spider gears in his rear end. He was able to limp it home with his CDL locked in. I traded him another set of Disco axles a while back, so I think he'll be swapping the 3rd member early this week to get back on the road.

All in all it was a great time! Really enjoyed night wheeling. Definitely need to get a good blackout on my Disco.

The hood black out helps a ton. Looks like a good time! I haven't hit the trails in far too long and will have to wait until next summer unless I run out to Moab this winter.

I really like your bumper. Did you build it or is it available somewhere?

Thanks! I built it out of some 4" structural tubing and 1.25" black pipe. Winch is on a hitch receiver to make it easy to swap around.

I clean it out about once a month as the container catches the same amount of sludge every month.

Replaced some aging spark plug wires. Wasnt too bad without removing the IM. Used one of those small probe cameras you hook up to your phone and some long angled needle nose pliers. Relieved to have it done!
