Looks clean though. I'm not sure I hate the wheels. I think if they were 20s and it didn't have a snorkel I'd like it. I don't think the street queen look matches the discovery 2 though. They aren't exactly what I'd call luxurious and comfortable like some people might expect. The disco is much more comfortable than a jeep Cherokee (xj), but it's not even close to as quiet and comfortable as my wife's gx460 (that came out only 5-6 years after the d2) or even my 06 tundra with long travel. Kinda British apples to Japanese oranges, but nice street rims would match a Range Rover or even an lr3 more in my mind since I've owned and driven a discovery 2.

Hint hint... Sound deadening is in my near future haha.

Really though that thing does look clean though.

Not today but last week, headed up a trail as far as it would go up Mt. Shasta.

Today was convincing the transfer case safety solenoid to move again so that I could shift to 4L. Seems like it forgot it was supposed to get out of the way.

New rubber yesterday and installed the Best4x4 PCV mod today. My oil separator was 100% clogged.

Pic of PV1027 installed in intake

New PCV that replaced the plastic nipple with threads

The oil separator. I drilled it out from the small hole side and punched out the plastic junk. Cleaned it up and reinstalled it in the valve cover.

Trash after the job

Replaced the watts link, got rid of a clunk from bumps. An impact wrench made all the difference in the world, made a big difference, got it from ebay $180 including the arms. Nothing like spending a couple hours under the truck, this thing has been remarkably reliable. knock on wood. Althogh I have a power steeing leak I need to sort, probably the high pressure hose. oh, and a broken window regulator. Im getting to be an expert at window regulators.

I have seen them way worse than that, almost solid the entire diameter.

Just goofing off on some rocks on my folks property yesterday and put about a 3" cut in the sidewall of a tire. Whoo!

Still was a good time, cost of doing business. Moving up to 35s sooner than expected.

Got s few things done today.
  • Installed and cleaned the rear seats I picked up from the salvage yard.
  • Replaced the cracked instrument gauge bezel
  • Replaced the worn out Diff Lock shifter boot
  • Decided to install the rear cargo cover that I picked up from the salvage yard that I listed on offerup but never sold.
  • Started making a list of everything I need to get ready for our overlanding trip to Arizona during Thanksgiving
