No pictures and nothing too special but this last week has been servicing the drive shaft, fiddling with the hi/low safety solenoid, o2 sensors, blower and blower resistor.

Default Leaks

Had the dreaded sun roof leaks, had the bits 3d printed and fixed that, was fun ..then out in a thunder storm and the head lining out, water pissed in the wind screen
so after much deliberation on how long I’ll keep this for.
I picked up Fiberglass a pillar covers from Aussie , took the truck to a paint shop .
sun roofs out, all glass out, found a dodgy repair to front fender so replaced that then just the worst dents out , the bonnet had clear coat damage and some rust under the wind screen.
it’s been in the shop a few weeks, can’t wait to get it road worthy

Friend of mine got the LR bug. Had his new purchase delivered to my house I could go over it. Pretty sick rig! Mechanically very sound but lots of odd eletrical gremlins and cosmetic stuff to work through inside. Patina on the exterior is fantastic though!

that is the best color, period. I saw one at a shop and have been trying to track it down ever since. Definitely worth saving.

check any wiring that was for the lights or other accessories. I pulled all the janky vampire connections and it cleared up my electrical issues for the most part on my classic

That's the plan but its been raining like crazy here in SF. Hoping to pull all the aux light wiring along with the dual battery system to start fresh. All that stuff needs a rework anyway as it look ancient!

Relays are known to be kind of wonky over on these. Also, anything not original like the distributer or ignition coil can be problematic. Don't let your friend get fooled into newer or aftermarket dizzys. Find good used 35D bosch units I believe they are and stock up on em lol. The classics are just different enough from a d2 that it's a totally different ball game tho it's the same block.. Good luck!

Started the cooling system overhaul. Got everything off fine. But man, the old gasket is killing me. This is as far as I got after a few hours:

I HATE old gaskets.

Recommend trying a drill with a wire wheel. Should make quick work of it.
