any leak is not good. time for a pressure and leak down test to find out what is leaking where.

I know alot of the DII's end up getting them at some point or another....I just want to rule out all options before I have to break down and replace the head gaskets which I am obviously fearful that may be the issue.

exactly why you should have the system tested so you don't do work you don't need.... yet

Okay update...I changed my oil last night using Rotella 10w40 and a fram xd filter...now no more smoke??? I'm happy but what the heck?

keep driving it. you are not getting any error codes right? just keep an eye on the oil and coolant levels.

The oil has nothing to do with it.
I dont know where you live but are you sure it wasnt just normal cold outside temps exhaust smoke?

Its been cold...I'm in West Virginia. But it was a lot of exhaust. I guess we'll see.

I live in Canada and the colder it gets the more my DII smokes. On a day like today (-25 Celsius) you would think I was burning fir branches in my exhaust pipe. Once the temperature goes up the smoke goes down to the point where it isn't noticeable.
