Default Engine Swap

I just put in a new engine in my 2002 LR Disco II, and everything hooked up perfectly, but I can't get the engine to turn over with the key in the ignition. I know the starter is good because I jumped the starter and it turned over. When I tried to turn it over with the key, I got no results. Is there something that has to be reset, possibly with the factiry anti-theft system? Any help would be appreciated because at this point, I am lost.

Reset the inertia switch on the fire wall, black rubber button, press it.
If that does not work then reset the alarm, key in the drivers door, lock/unlock 3 times.

Thanks for the suggestions spike. Neither of the two worked out for me though. It still wont turn over with the key, and it wont come out of park. Any chance that has something to do with the fact that the tow yard towed the Disco about 10yards while it was in Park because they couldnt get into it? Side note..... I found the inertia switch hanging from its wires. The bracket had been broken during engine removal/installation. I used zip ties to strap it back in place thinking that it might think the vehicle had been rolled over.

Um, yeah, I'd say the tow company needs to get it fixed at their expense.
They broke something, hell, it may not even be in park.

did you remove the transmission in the process of swapping engines?

anyone know if it's possible to do an engine swap without removing gearboxes?
